Helena Monteiro, Executive Director

With 20+ years of experience in international development and the nonprofit sector, Helena has worked for the Canadian Public Health Association, the Pan American Health Organization and the Organization of American States. In Brazil she worked as Program Director at IDIS, a support organization serving corporate and family philanthropy. She earned a master's degree in social work from the University of Toronto and is Senior Fellow of the CUNY Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society. Helena joined WINGS in 2011.

Ana Borges Pinho, Knowledge Management Coordinator

Ana holds a bachelor's degree in international relations and an MSc in development studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has worked for grassroots and international NGOs in Brazil, doing research, administration and coordination of projects on gender, adult education and fair trade. Ana was previously with Amnesty International in London, where she worked on human rights issues in Brazil.

Chris Delatorre, Managing Editor

Chris is a communications consultant, social activist, and STEM and sustainability advocate. Bylines include The Huffington Post, Institute for Ethics & Emerging Technologies (IEET), Singularity Hub and Vogue. He earned dual bachelor's degrees in biology and English, and has completed 33 credit hours towards a master's degree at George Mason University. His multimedia resource, COMPASS, was named 'model program' by the US Department of Education.

Laura Fernandez, Membership and Development Coordinator

Laura has grassroots, NGO and private sector experience at the international level in advocacy, research and communication on climate change and sustainable development. Laura is originally from Colombia, and her passion for global change and international cooperation brought her to WINGS. She holds bachelor degrees in International Relations and Geography, and studied a master’s program in Development Studies at the Graduate Institute in Geneva.

Rebecca Soragni, Administrative Coordinator

Rebecca has many years of nonprofit experience in administration and with nonprofits, including in London where she worked for The National Benevolent Fund for the Aged. Previous to WINGS, she worked in São Paulo as a workshop coordinator for a charity developing educommunication projects in public schools. Rebecca has an accounting diploma from Italy.

Julia Cestari Santos, Programme Intern

Julia is an undergraduate in International Relations at ESPM. She has organized academic events and participates in ESPM groups, including National Encounter of International Relations Students (ENERI 2013) and Institutional Council of International Relations Students (CIERI). Julia has participated in model UN simulations like the Harvard National Model of United Nations, and represented Brazilian youth interests at Y8 Summit 2013 in London. Her interest in philanthropy and humanitarian causes inspired her to begin a professional career with WINGS.
