Ray Murphy Memorial Bursary established
The Ray Murphy Memorial Bursary has been established by Clann Credo - the Social Investment Fund and Philanthropy Ireland to encourage postgraduate research into philanthropy, social finance and related areas.
Ray Murphy, who died in 2007 at the age of 55, was a pioneer of Irish philanthropy and known by many in philanthropic networks around the globe. In 2008 the ten-year Ray Murphy Lecture Series was launched in his honour.
The newly launched bursary is intended to support postgraduate students intending to pursue either a taught or research postgraduate program in a third-level institution in Ireland. Eligible areas of concentration include philanthropy, social finance, charities regulation, social enterprise/entrepreneurship, not-for-profit management or other relevant topics, as approved by the Bursary Committee.
The bursary is worth 10,000 euros. Applications must be received by Friday, 28 May 2010. For full details, visit the bursary website.
