If you and your organisation care about social issues and want to create social impact as a funder or volunteer of your 'day-skills', then join 300 like-minded people in Singapore on 9-10 May 2013.
Do you want to:
- Hear from Asia's leading venture philanthropists on their work with children, in healthcare and expanding financial inclusion?
- Learn from the heads of innovative government social funding initiatives in the USA and UK?
- Network with like-minded providers of funding and human capital for high potential social organisations?
- Debate what works and doesn't work as delegates from more than 20 countries share their experience?
- Improve your skills at fundraising, mobilising human capital and social impact assessment?
Asia is beginning to show a keen awareness of venture philanthropy and impact investing and there is a wide range of philanthropic and commercial interest. How do we bring together common interests, concepts, networks and resources to deliver greater social impact? How do we harness such potential? Drawing on key points from Monitor’s report "From Blueprint to Scale”, moderator Harvey Koh of Monitor Deloitte will kick off the discussion on the phenomenon of the early-stage ‘pioneer gap’ and how philanthropy can bridge this so that new business models can emerge to absorb return-seeking capital. He will pose the question: how do we best harness both philanthropic and return-seeking capital between philanthropists providing early stage risk capital and mainstream investors and what can be done to bridge these sources of funding.
Amongst the many interactive panels at the AVPN Annual Conference, delegates will get to hear from Luther Ragin, Managing Director of Global Impact Investor Network, Kristin Lindsey, CEO of Global Fund for Children, Amir Khan, Deputy Director at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Nat Sloane, England Chair of Big Lottery Fund, and Paul Carttar, former Director of White House's Social Innovation Fund.
