Myanmar webinar 3 – Myanmar in Context: Internal Dynamics and the Contest for the Nation

The final installment of the Myanmar country webinar series closes with an analysis of the underlying factors that have shaped the country since 1948.  By placing current events, key stakeholders, and issues into their broader context, Dr. Aung-Thwin provides an internal perspective of Myanmar affairs that will be directly relevant to investors, foundations, and social purpose organisations who are concerned with the sustainability of political reforms and possible ramifications of the 2015 elections.

AVPN is introducing our new series of in-country focus webinars from December 2013. The webinars will feature practitioners and subject experts representing different perspectives in social investing in the featured countries. The first country to be featured is Myanmar. The amount of excitement and enthusiasm that has been going around in both the social and commercial sectors over the country have resulted in a flurry of noise – in the media, the investors and also the non-profit industries. However, this remains a tough landscape to maneuver and it requires not only patience, careful due diligence but also the right partnerships. Check our events page for the other webinars.
