About this event: Join your colleagues to kick off Donors Forum's 40th anniversary year with this afternoon program and reception at the Museum of Broadcast Communications in downtown Chicago.
Our keynote speaker will be Sterling Speirn, recently retired President and CEO of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Mich., who is known for his provocative and engaging presentations. You can listen to his popular TED Talk on Untapped Giving here.
Sterling will speak on the imperative that grantmakers, nonprofits, business, and the public sector work together to truly impact some of our thorniest social problems. His talk will relate directly to Engaging for Impact, Donors Forum's strategic plan, as we work to find ways to bring together groups to effectively collaborate on a common agenda.
Responding to Sterling's talk will be Sharon Bush, Director of Elgin Programs and Senior Program Officer at the Grand Victoria Foundation; Alejandra Ibanez,Program Officer at Oak Park River Forest Community Foundation; and Mark Ishaug, CEO of Thresholds. Mae Hong, Director at Rockfeller Philanthropy Advisors in Chicago, will moderate the discussion as well as an audience question-and-answer session.
We'll then adjourn to the reception, where you can enjoy hors d'oeuvres and drinks with colleagues and explore the Museum exhibits -- as well as some special interactive opportunities set up especially for our Donors Forum group!
