Biography - Olga Alexeeva

Olga Alexeeva is Head of Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Global Trustees a new CAF venture that is focused on the development of private and family philanthropy around the world. Prior to this post, she was Director of CAF Russia.

Ms. Alexeeva started working with CAF as Research Officer in 1993 and then as Programme Officer working on several development programmes for NGOs in Russia. In 1997 she became Co-Director and later named Director of CAF's office in Russia. Before joining CAF, she worked as a journalist in several national newspapers in Russia covering social reforms and the development of civil society.

Ms. Alexeeva has also served as Chairwoman on the Board of the Russian Society for support of children with autism "Dobro"; and Board member of the Foundation for Independent Radio, Children's Theatre "Basement", Arts Studio for Orphans "Maria's Children", the Togliatti Community Foundation and the Moscow Community Foundation.

She is author of the following books for and about nonprofit organisations and civil society in Russia: Who helps children (1994); Charities in Russian Regions (1995); Third Sector or Charity for Beginners (1997). She is also one of the authors of Working with the non profit sector in Russia (1999) published in the UK.
