Int'l Conference on Financing for Development in Addis Ababa
World leaders looked at how different sources of funding can support sustainable development, including the UN SDGs. WINGS members and partners Foundation Center, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors and EFC, and OECD netFWD, hosted side events to discuss philanthropy’s contribution to the financing for development. African Philanthropy Network and the Southern Africa Trust also took part.
A Watershed Moment for African Philanthropy
The 2015 AGN Assembly was significant because, for the first time, members covered a majority of the costs. The network had previously relied on external funding. That in itself speaks of a maturing sector.
