Purpose/Mission:

  • To promote business sector commitment to social development;
  • To make strategic business contributions to improve the quality of life of the Filipino poor and help them become self-reliant.

Programmes:

1. Area Resource Management (ARM) – A long-term, integrated approach to reducing poverty by working with the disadvantaged population. ARM is designed to help the poor gain access to and/or own, use, manage and benefit from the resources available in their communities.

2. Basic Education and Information Technology (IT) in Education Program – Aims to provide greater access to and improve the quality of education. Program support and strategies include school desk and book donation, improvement of school buildings, training of teachers, provision of IT infrastructure and connectivity, scholarships, and innovative approaches like neighbor mentoring, and supplemental feeding for school children in highly depressed communities.

3. Water and Health Program – Aims to reduce the incidence of diseases, provide access to clean and potable water, and improve the health conditions of targeted households in assisted communities.

4. Enterprise Development Program – Provides credit support to small and medium enterprises to stimulate livelihood and job creation. Business advisory services are provided to SMEs to improve their business competencies. Since 1989, PBSP and its partner banks have provided P3.7 billion (approx. USD 76.6 million) to some 8,860 SMEs nationwide, generating more than 14,000 jobs.

Community Partners and Actors in Development (COMPACT) – a quarterly publication featuring PBSP’s programs and its partnerships with the government, business, NGOs, donor institutions, and poverty groups to increase the impact of PBSP’s assistance.

PBSP Annual Report – a yearly publication showcasing PBSP's milestones in corporate citizenship and its trailblazing poverty reduction programs developed and implemented with the strategic commitment of business. It honors members, donors and partners who have made the past year productive and looks forward to strengthened collaboration.

New Leaders – quarterly publication of PBSP Center for Corporate Citizenship that aims to share the social development learning and strategies currently implemented by PBSP members and CSR partners.
