The Asociación Española de Fundaciones was created to offer services to its associates, to contribute to improving the visibility and role of foundations in Spain, and to represent the Spanish foundation sector.

The AEF provides the following services to its members:

• Advice on legal, accountancy and financial matters.
• Information on matters that affect the foundation sector.
• Training on various topics.
• Facilitating discussion and cooperation within the sector.
• Convening groups of foundations around common issues and interests.
• Negotiations on behalf of its members with commercial services for preferential treatment and discounts for products and services.
