In its activities the Academy gives special priority to cooperation with community foundations and other NGOs active is small communities, as the goal is to primarily contribute to their self-sustainability and local development.
The Academy's programs are focused on 4 fields:
- development of local communities
- youth activation
- activation of senior citizens
- corporate community involvement
I Development of Local Communities
The Academy runs programs addressed at developing and strengthening community foundations as well as local non-profit organizations and institutions:
- Act Locally (developing and strengthening a national network of Local Grantmaking Organizations which distribute grants for initiatives aimed at activating local communities, solving local problems and satisfying needs of its members)
- PAFF Local Partnerships (initiating cooperation between organisations, institutions and people involved into various PAFF programmes - in one or more communes - on the basis of what they accomplished and learned while implementing the projects, and other active community leaders)
- V4 Community Foundation Maturity Programme (supporting the institutional development of the community foundations from V4 countries: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through knowledge, grants and communication). More at www.v4program.org.
II Youth Activation
The Academy undertakes activities targeted at supporting organizations co-operating with youth and providing financial aid to talented students:
- Safety Pin Scholarship Program (a scholarship program for gifted children and students implemented in co-operation of community foundations)
- My Scholarship (supporting local organizations granting scholarships to pupils and students from rural areas)
- CITI helps Students. Students help locally (summer training or students of social sciences in local grant-making organizations, in order to verify in practice their theoretical knowledge as well as to take a closer look at the challenges of local communities and organizations active in this environment)
III Activation of Senior Citizens
The Academy supports local NGOs undertaking initiatives aimed at activating seniors and encouraging their co-operation with youth:
- Academy for Online Senior Citizens (Academy assists UPC Polska in giving the final shape of the program and provides assistance in implementation it - through training group of computer instructors and consolidating a net of UPC computer rooms)
- Benefits of Maturity (improving the labour market condition and employment rate of people over 50 years of age by actively counteracting social exclusion and age discrimination)
IV Corporate Community Involvement
The Academy runs programs aimed at promoting and encouraging social activities undertaken by businesses:
- The "Benefactor of the Year" competition (promoting effective models of cooperation between corporate donors and NGOs as well as strategies of corporate community involvement)
- Newsweek - Responsible Business (series of prestigious meetings of the representatives of political and business elites in each of the 16 voivodships, that provides the opportunity to present and discuss the outcomes of the survey on regional CSR activities)
