Corporate philanthropy: sharing good practice

This peer learning event saw WINGS starting a specialised programme of work to strengthen and support the way corporate giving is promoted and developed. This event was for those organisations with the greatest experience in working with corporates, to stimulate and share experience and ideas with each other, and to assist WINGS in developing material and tools that would assist counterpart organisations at earlier stages in this work.
The agenda (PDF - 142 KB) describes the event in more detail and sets it in the context of a new, major element of WINGS’ work for the period 2004 - 2007, in which WINGS has sought to address the need expressed by grantmaker associations and support organisations to better understand the ways in which corporate givers differ from other types of grantmakers, and thus to foster better promotion and services. WINGS' work in this area was planned to focus on helping support corporate grantmakers in giving money, products and other resources, and not to replicate the work of other agencies in exploring companies' broader corporate social responsibility activity.
