Codes and standards for grantmakers
20-22 May 2005
London, UK
Hosted by the Community Foundation Network (UK)
This event provided an opportunity for colleagues from different parts of the world to come together and examine the value of developing and adopting codes and standards for grantmakers, and collectively address issues such as:
- How important are codes and standards for grantmakers?
- What is the role of an association in developing and/or promoting codes and standards for its members?
- What are the common elements of existing codes and standards within the network?
- What are the trends and challenges in self-regulation and certification in different regions?
- Have there been concrete gains so far?
- Can we really monitor compliance?
- How are transparency and accountability promoted in the absence of written codes and standards?
Any senior staff member of an association or support organisation participating in the WINGS network, including its constituent group WINGS-CF, could apply.
